Famous oriental dancer Asena shared her experiences of violence during her childhood in a program she attended. Asena's remarks, stating that she was beaten every Friday, drew attention.
Asena, who is currently a singer, stated that she grew up with her grandmother on the program of Uğurkan Erez and Erol Albayrak. Experiencing emotional moments, Asena expressed that she loved her grandmother very much, but she also said that she was regularly subjected to physical violence.
She described her experiences with the following words:
"I was regularly beaten every Friday. I never wanted to go home. I didn't want school to be on break. Every child would want the weekend to come, but I always wanted to be at school. It had become a rule for me to be beaten on Fridays. The rolling pins couldn't withstand me. The rolling pins would break, and money would be given to buy a new one. The neighbors said not to waste money, so she went and had a cornelian cherry stick made."
Finally, Asena reconciled with İbrahim Tatlıses. Their 25-year feud ended on the İbo Show program. When asked why she reconciled, she explained with the sentences, "What I felt is for me to keep. My reason for going there was to cleanse myself of burdens. It was to close accounts. I am not angry with anyone, and I have no competition with anyone."
