"WE CONDEMN THIS IMMORAL BEHAVIOR IN THE STRONGEST TERMS"

Fatih Deveci, the President of the Sivas Martyrs' Families and Veterans Social Assistance and Solidarity Association, made a statement to the press after leaving the courthouse, saying, "A private public bus driver operating on the Çayboyu neighborhood line has severely insulted one of our martyr's fathers and attempted a physical assault. We condemn this inhumane and immoral behavior in the strongest terms. In these lands, which have become a homeland with the blood of our martyrs, it is not acceptable for anyone to raise their hand or insult their fathers, mothers, spouses, or children. Until now, we have always acted with calmness and patience in similar incidents. Each time, we have done what was necessary for the law to take its course. However, this incident has exceeded the limits of patience. After the incident, we immediately contacted the necessary authorities. An administrative process has been initiated against the driver, his employment contract has been terminated, and a fine has been imposed. This decision should serve as a clear warning to anyone considering similar disrespect. No one should ever have the audacity to do such a thing again. We say it clearly once again from here; every hand that reaches out to the sacred memory of our martyrs and the honor of our veterans will be met with the conscience and will of our nation. We will fully protect the legacies of the heroes who sacrificed their lives for this homeland," he said.
