A notable move has been made ahead of the 5th hearing of the lawsuit filed for the annulment of the 38th Ordinary Congress and the 21st Extraordinary Congress of the CHP, which will be held tomorrow. The Party Assembly has decided to hold the 39th Ordinary Congress on November 28-30.
CHP has reached the end of its ordinary congress process, which it scheduled to be concluded quickly as a precaution against the annulment case.
DATE ANNOUNCED FOR CHP'S 39TH ORDINARY CONGRESS
Having completed the provincial congresses as of the day before yesterday and renewed the list of 1200 delegates for the grand congress, CHP has now taken action to convene its ordinary grand congress. The Party Assembly (PM), which met today, decided to hold the 39th Ordinary Congress on November 28-30. As a precaution against the annulment case filed with the demand for "absolute nullity," CHP had also held two extraordinary congresses on April 6 and September 21.
LAWSUIT FILED FOR THE CANCELLATION OF TWO CONGRESSES
The fifth hearing to be held at the Ankara 42nd Civil Court will start at 10:00 AM. The previous hearing of the case was held on September 15. The court panel rejected the precautionary request of the plaintiff's attorney and requested the list of names of the delegates who voted in both congresses in question. The file containing these names has been added to the case file.
WHAT DECISIONS CAN COME OUT OF THE LAWSUIT?
It is reported that the court, which is focused on the decision it will make in today's fifth hearing, will evaluate four different decision options, including the appointment of the former administration led by Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu instead of the Special administration with an "absolute nullity" decision, the appointment of a call committee instead of the current administration as in the Istanbul Provincial Presidency, the postponement of the hearing once again, or the rejection of the application. CHP management argues that the lawsuit has become moot with the last extraordinary congress held, and therefore the lawsuit should be dismissed.
SURPRISE MOVE FROM LÜTFÜ SAVAŞ
Before the congress annulment case to be heard tomorrow, a surprise move came from former Hatay Metropolitan Mayor Lütfü Savaş and other previous CHP congress delegates. These individuals, who are also complainants in the annulment case, submitted a petition to the Ankara 42nd Civil Court, where the case is being heard, requesting the annulment of all elections held during the process of CHP's 39th Ordinary Congress. The petition stated that the CHP Central Administration had systematically eliminated the will of the congress at the 38th Ordinary Congress, and this situation was claimed to be contrary to law and public order. It was alleged in the petition that the current party administration seized control through illegal means and that every congress held while this administration remains in power would be "incapable of escaping being the poisonous fruit of the poisonous tree." It was also claimed that "the current administration has eliminated intra-party democracy and obstructed all rights of party members, including candidacy."
