Millions of citizens are focused on the inflation rate for December. The inflation figures will be announced tomorrow at 10:00 AM by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK). Along with inflation, the new salaries for civil servants, retired civil servants, and worker retirees will also be determined. There will be increases in severance pay ceilings, paid military service fees, old-age and disability pensions, and home care support. PAID MILITARY SERVICE FEEThe paid military service fee is being recalculated according to the civil servant monthly coefficient. According to calculations, the paid fee, which is 217,871 lira, is expected to exceed 244,000 lira in 2025. OLD-AGE PENSIONSince the civil servant salary increase causes an increase in salary coefficients, there will also be an increase in payments for those receiving old-age pensions, disability pensions, home care pensions, and support. Accordingly, the old-age pension will approach 4,690 lira from 4,180 lira. DISABILITY PENSIONThe pension for those with a disability rate between 40-69% will be updated from 3,338 lira to 3,743 lira, The pension for those with a disability rate of 70% and above will be updated from 5,007 lira to 5,616 lira, The pension for disabled relatives will be updated from 2,798 lira to 3,358 lira. HOME CARE ASSISTANCEHome care assistance support will increase from 9,077 lira to 10,180 lira. CHILD SUPPORTPreschool child support will increase from 4,312 lira to 4,837 lira, child support for primary school children will increase from 6,468 lira to 7,255 lira, and child support for secondary school children will increase from 6,899 lira to 7,739 lira. INFLATION EXPECTATIONSThe inflation rate for December 2024 is expected to be 1.61%. If the inflation aligns with expectations, the 6-month inflation figure will be 16.42%. CIVIL SERVANT AND RETIREE SALARY INCREASE RATEIf we act according to the inflation forecast, retiree salaries will show an increase of 16.42%. The salary increase rate for civil servants and retired civil servants due to collective bargaining and inflation differences will be 12.18%. SEVERANCE PAY CEILINGAlong with the minimum wage, the minimum amount for severance pay has risen to 26,004 lira. The severance pay ceiling is determined by the civil servant salary increase rate. Within the framework of inflation expectations, it will rise from 41,827 lira to over 46,920 lira. The new figure will be redefined to take effect from January 1. The final figure will be determined after the confirmation of the 6-month inflation figures and the change in the civil servant monthly coefficient by the Ministry of Treasury and Finance.
