A.U.A., who has been wanted for 9 years for being a member of 'FETÖ' in Konya, was detained at a house where he was hiding under an identity card issued in his brother's name. Police teams arrested A.U.A. after he was caught using a fake identity.

The teams of the Counter-Terrorism Branch of the Konya Police Department determined that A.U.A., who has been wanted since 2017 for the crime of 'being a member of an armed terrorist organization' by the Hakkari 3rd Heavy Penal Court, came to the Konya Intercity Bus Terminal to see off his mother. By the time the dispatched teams arrived at the area, A.U.A. had already left the terminal.

IT WAS REVEALED THAT HE USED HIS BROTHER'S IDENTITY

Police examining the security camera footage found that A.U.A. returned to the Intercity Bus Terminal on the evening of January 6 with a woman. During the identity check by the teams, it was understood that A.U.A. showed his brother M.A.'s identity and was released since there was no arrest warrant against M.A. The police, deepening their investigation, determined that M.A. was at another location in the city at the same time. Consequently, the teams discovered that A.U.A. had used his brother M.A.'s identity.

The police teams determined that A.U.A., whose trail they were following, had stayed at a hotel using his brother M.A.'s information but had left the hotel early after paying in advance, saying 'I have a funeral.' When the woman with the suspect arrived at the terminal to go to Antalya, the teams took action. The police identified the address the woman arrived at by taxi. It was determined that the suspect was hiding in a house in the Sille neighborhood. During the teams' control around the house, the vehicle used by the suspect was identified. After it was understood that the homeowner also had a record of FETÖ membership, an operation was carried out upon the prosecutor's instruction. In the operation, A.U.A. was detained. During the searches by the teams, documents containing the identity of A.U.A.'s brother and his brother's information were seized. After his procedures at the police station, A.U.A. was referred to the courthouse and was arrested and sent to prison. Legal action was initiated against one person who provided accommodation for A.U.A.
