While approximately 7 million employees eagerly await the rate of increase in the minimum wage for 2025, political parties have also announced the figures they demand to the public. Inflation, living costs, and the balances in the labor market will be decisive in determining the minimum wage. However, the figures announced by the parties differ significantly in terms of economic realities and political visions. This year, each party argues that the minimum wage should be at a level that improves the living standards of workers. The requested figures range from 30,000 TL to 50,000 TL. Erdoğan said, "Starting tomorrow, the minimum wage determination commission will begin discussions. I hope that the process will be carried out with an understanding that will take into account the expectations of our employees and will not impose a heavy burden on our country's economy." CHP: WE ARE NOT BELOW 30,000 TLCHP Chairman Özgür Özel announced that his party's demand for the minimum wage is 30,000 TL. Özel stated, "We are not below this figure. We will continue to protest and fight." DEM PARTY: IT SHOULD BE AT LEAST 35,000 TLDEM Party Co-Chair Tuncer Bakırhan argued that the minimum wage should be at least 35,000 TL. Bakırhan stated, "Minimum wage earners should receive a wage that allows them to live with dignity," and emphasized that the wage should be updated twice a year. GOOD PARTY: 28,000 TL WITH INTERIM INCREASEGood Party Chairman Müsavat Dervişoğlu requested that, considering the situation of employers, the minimum wage should be at least 28,000 TL in the first half of 2025 and that an interim increase should be made in July. Dervişoğlu said, "A wage below this is oppression against the Turkish nation." NEW WELFARE PARTY: 35,000 TLNew Welfare Party Deputy Chairman Suat Kılıç stated that the minimum wage should be 35,000 TL in the new year.
