The fire that broke out at the leather production factory in Çerkezköy was brought under control after 9 hours, averting a disaster. Approximately 20 fire trucks responded to the blaze, and one firefighter was injured.

Dozens of fire crews have been struggling to extinguish the fire for hours. Two workers affected by smoke and a firefighter injured from a fall were taken to the hospital.

FOR 7 HOURS, INTERVENTION WITH DOZENS OF FIRE TRUCKS

In the Çerkezköy district of Tekirdağ, intervention has been ongoing for 7 hours in a factory producing leather where a fire broke out. The employees of the leather-producing factory in the Çerkezköy Organized Industrial Zone reported the fire to the 112 Emergency Call Center. Firefighters, police, and 112 Emergency Health teams were dispatched to the area to intervene in the fire. The factory was closed to vehicle and pedestrian access, and citizens were evacuated from the area as a precaution. Approximately 20 fire trucks and 2 AFAD teams affiliated with Tekirdağ Metropolitan Municipality and Çerkezköy Organized Industrial Zone are intervening in the fire.

FLAMES HAVE ENGULFED THE ENTIRE FACTORY

As the flames engulf the entire factory, thick smoke is also spreading to the surrounding area. The firefighters' battle against the flames has been ongoing for 7 hours. Two workers affected by smoke and a firefighter who fell and sustained minor injuries were taken to Çerkezköy State Hospital by health teams. Meanwhile, firefighters rescued a pigeon trapped on the roof of the factory. After giving water to the bird, the team later released it outside the factory. Çerkezköy District Governor Nazmi Günlü, Kapaklı District Governor Mustafa Gürdal, Çerkezköy Mayor Vahap Akay, and Çerkezköy OSB Board Chairman Eyüp Sözdinler also came to the area to monitor the efforts.
