Ismail Salih Hızarcı, a 26-year-old who ranked first in İzmir and sixth in Turkey in the public revenue expert assistant exam, was eliminated in the interview. Hızarcı, who dreams of becoming a civil servant, is currently working as a courier to make a living. He stated that he is currently staying with his aunt and said, "Serving the state was my dream; I have been treated unfairly."
"Serving the state is also serving the nation. This was my dream," said İsmail Salih Hızarcı, who set out on this path. Despite scoring high on the KPSS, he experienced great disappointment when he could not be appointed. Speaking to Halk TV, Hızarcı said, "I have been wronged. I have wanted to work in the state since I was a child."
"I TRUSTED THE PRINCIPLE OF MERIT"
Hızarcı, who studied political science and public administration at university, stated that he prepared for the KPSS for two years after graduation, and despite scoring high on the written exam, his name was not on the list. He expressed his disappointment with the words, "I trusted the Constitution and the merit principles of the Republic. It created a great trauma for me. I was sure I would be appointed because I was the first in the province, but my name was not on the list."
"THOSE WHO SCORED LOWER THAN ME WERE APPOINTED"
Despite being successful in the oral exams, Hızarcı claimed that no objective evaluation was made, stating, "I was unlawfully given a low score. Those who scored lower than me were appointed," asserting that he was wronged.
"I AM TRYING TO GET BY ON MINIMUM WAGE"
Stating that he is the child of a farming family from Erzurum, Hızarcı indicated that he aimed to become a civil servant to support his family. Currently working at a cargo company, Hızarcı said, "I am trying to get by on minimum wage; I couldn't rent a house. I am staying with my aunt, and I cannot see my future."
