The leader of the CHP, Özgür Özel, made a call for a boycott of certain brands during his speech in Saraçhane. Responding to Özel's statements on the matter, AK Party spokesperson Ömer Çelik said, "Özgür Özel has not only called for a boycott of national companies but has also boycotted his own suitability for the position of CHP Chairman. This is political bullying and a diversion of attention."
After the arrest of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu as part of the corruption investigation against the IMM, a striking statement came from CHP leader Özgür Özel during the protest demonstrations that started in Saraçhane last night.
THE RESPONSE FROM THE AK PARTY WAS IMMEDIATE
Özel, who listed some brands and called for a boycott, received a quick response from the AK Party. Party Spokesperson Ömer Çelik used the following expressions in his statement regarding the issue: "CHP Chairman Özgür Özel continues to speak like an aggressor, completely distancing himself from speaking like a politician."
"OUR CITIZENS HAVE SEEN THE BULLY MENTALITY IN FULL"
This aggressive language, which targets our President, our party, our alliance, media organizations, and companies in every speech, will only harm him. All our citizens have fully seen this destructive and bullying mentality.
"IT IS NOTHING BUT POLITICAL BULLYING"
By calling for a boycott of national companies, Özgür Özel has only boycotted his own suitability for the CHP Chairmanship. Özgür Özel's open threats against media organizations and companies are nothing but political bullying. It has been observed that those who lack the ability to construct political sentences have no talent other than the language of threats. The language Özgür Özel uses in his attempt to prove himself has completely deviated from the political path.
"IT IS NOTHING BUT DISTRACTION"
Attacking our President, our AK Party, and our People's Alliance regarding issues that are on the CHP's own internal agenda is nothing but a distraction.
The essence of the matter from a political perspective is as follows:
1. Some CHP members have been bringing up allegations that some CHP municipalities have engaged in corruption for months by stating so.
2. Some CHP members have applied to the court for the annulment of the CHP Extraordinary Congress, claiming that fraud occurred in the previous congress.
"WE WILL GIVE THE NECESSARY RESPONSE AND WHAT THEY DESERVE IN DUE TIME"
The CHP administration should not divert the issue and must respond to the CHP members who made the allegations. It is grave that the CHP executives have turned a rooted party like the CHP into a center of aggressive and bullying mentality. We want our opponents to be reasonable and to confront us with real politics. To those who come to us with fake politics filled with bullying and aggression, we will give the necessary response and what they deserve in due time."
