The Syrian Ministry of Defense announced that it welcomed the decision of the terrorist organization YPG/SDG to withdraw from the contact lines west of the Euphrates River.
In a statement from the ministry, it was noted that the process of withdrawing all personnel and military equipment to the east of the Euphrates would be closely monitored.
The statement expressed that this step would be carried out simultaneously with the deployment of Syrian army units to these regions in order to ensure the security of the relevant areas and to re-establish state sovereignty.
It was emphasized that this process would facilitate the safe and rapid return of the local population to their homes and villages, while also paving the way for the reactivation of state institutions.
YPG ANNOUNCED ITS WITHDRAWAL
Ferhat Abdi Şahin, one of the leaders of the terrorist organization YPG/SDG targeted by the military operation initiated by the Syrian army west of the Euphrates River, claimed that the organization would withdraw to the east of the river and that terrorist elements would pull back to the areas east of the Euphrates at 7:00 AM.
On January 13, the Syrian army declared military zones in the areas occupied by the terrorist organization west of the Euphrates River, primarily in Deir Hafir and Meskene.
For the temporary and safe evacuation of civilians in Deir Hafir, the Syrian army opened a humanitarian corridor on the M15 highway yesterday and today.
In a statement made by the army this evening, maps of the terrorist nests to be targeted in Deir Hafir were published, and civilians were asked to stay away from these points.
The army had launched an operation against the declared targets at 10:00 PM local time.
