Three police officers were injured in an armed attack on police teams responding to a fight report in the Seferihisar district of İzmir. It was learned that the condition of two of the police officers is serious. The incident occurred around 20:00 in the Turabiye neighborhood of Seferihisar. Police teams on patrol were attacked by unidentified individuals with firearms. In the attack, Commissioner Furkan Hakan Aşkın and police officers İbrahim Gümüştekin and Mehmet Tozun were injured. Upon notification, additional police teams and medical personnel were dispatched to the scene. During the examination by medical personnel, the police officers in serious condition were taken to 9 Eylül University Hospital, while Commissioner Aşkın was taken to Seferihisar State Hospital. As part of the investigation launched regarding the incident, a suspect named S.Ç. was apprehended. The investigation is ongoing. The İzmir Governorship announced that three police officers who were injured after being shot at by armed individuals while responding to a report of armed conflict have been taken under treatment, and that the suspect of the incident was caught along with his weapon. In a statement made by the İzmir Governorship, it was said, "On November 20, 2024, around 20:00, our police team that was dispatched to the scene upon a report of armed conflict in our Seferihisar district was fired upon. Three of our police officers were injured and have been taken under treatment. The suspect of the incident, a person named M.S.Ç., was caught along with his weapon, and legal proceedings against him have begun."
