After being detained in an illegal gambling operation and released under house arrest, Serdar Ortaç made his first statement. Ortaç said, "Gambling took my home and my family. It took my money. It took my marriage and my health. And now it has brought me to court. I don't know how we can portray gambling in a worse light or how we can explain this to people."

In the investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office regarding artists and social media influencers identified as promoting and advertising illegal gambling, 16 suspects were detained, including artist Mehmet Ali Erbil, singer Serdar Ortaç, musician Zorbey Erkoçlar, Ibrahim Yılmaz, who has 19 million followers on social media, Russian and Turkish influencer Aleksander Mensikof, and Esma Sözen, who has 1.3 million followers. As part of the ongoing investigation, the 16 suspects who were detained were brought to the Cyber Crimes Investigation Bureau of the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office after their procedures at the police station. After their statements were completed, the suspects were referred to the duty magistrate for a request for arrest.
