Fishermen state that the early presence of hamsi in the markets is promising for the future of hamsi, and the price of hamsi in Trabzon Fish Market is between 200-250 TL per kilogram.

'USUALLY HAMSİ IS SCARCE WHEN PALAMUT IS ABUNDANT'

Mehmet Örseloğlu, a fisherman, stated that hamsi has taken its place in the markets early for the first time during the period when palamut is abundant. He said, "This year, hamsi has come for the first time during the period when palamut is abundant. Hamsi comes from Sinop. It is usually caught in the nets of small fishermen. It has come this early for the first time. The price is 200 TL. Usually, when palamut is abundant, hamsi is scarce. It is very difficult to say whether hamsi will continue or not."

HAMSİ WILL ALSO BE PLENTIFUL LIKE PALAMUT

Ahmet Çoğalmış, another fisherman, stated that they hope hamsi will be as abundant as palamut. He said, "Hamsi has come this early for the first time. This year, there is an abundance of palamut. Hopefully, hamsi will also experience this abundance. It didn't usually appear this early in previous years."
