Heavy rainfall affecting the Dörtyol and Hassa districts of Hatay caused floods. As streams and creeks overflowed, homes, gardens, and roads were submerged, and some vehicles were swept away by floodwaters. Teams have initiated work in the areas affected by the flooding.
The heavy downpour affecting Hatay negatively impacted life in the Dörtyol and Hassa districts. After hours of rainfall, streams and creeks overflowed, leaving many homes, gardens, and roads under water.
STREAMS OVERFLOWED IN DÖRTYOL
Due to the downpour that intensified in the Dörtyol district starting from the morning hours, the Deliçay and Özerli Stream overflowed. As a result of the flood, streets and avenues in the Kuzuculu and Numune Evler neighborhoods were covered with water.
While citizens experienced difficult moments due to the floods, disruptions occurred in transportation in some areas.
VEHICLES SWEPT AWAY IN HASSA
In the Hassa district, due to the overflow of the Söğüt, Aşağıkarafakılı, and Güdükali streams as well as the Akbez Creek, floods occurred at many points.
While homes, barns, and gardens were damaged due to the flood, some vehicles were seen being swept away by the floodwaters.
TEAMS LAUNCHED OPERATIONS
Following the floods, teams affiliated with the Hassa and Dörtyol municipalities launched fieldwork. While cleaning and evacuation efforts continue in the areas affected by the floods, teams also took precautions against potential new floods.
