This year, the 28th Flying Broom International Women’s Film Festival has started with the theme "Unique Women, Unique Stories." During the opening ceremony, cinema artists Hülya Darcan and Gülşen Bubikoğlu were awarded the "Flying Broom Honor Award."
This year, the opening ceremony of the 28th Flying Broom International Women's Film Festival, organized under the theme "Unique Women, Unique Stories," was held at the Ankara State Opera and Ballet, hosted by actors Şenay Gürler and Yetkin Dikinciler.
HONORARY AWARD FOR HÜLYA DARCAN AND GÜLŞEN BUBİKOĞLU
In the festival, the 'Flying Broom Honor Award' was presented to cinema artists Hülya Darcan and Gülşen Bubikoğlu. Receiving her award from actress Esra Bilgiç, Hülya Darcan stated that she was also a guest on stage in the first year of the festival, which started 28 years ago.
"CINEMA IS A LIFETIME"
Darcan, who said that nothing is the same after her 20-year break from acting, stated, "I returned to cinema as a mother with a child and a widowed woman, having left as a young girl. Cinema embraced me once again. It is so loyal. Cinema is indeed a lifetime." The award for Gülşen Bubikoğlu, who is currently abroad, was presented to Meliha Varol.
SUCCESS AWARDS WENT TO 3 NAMES
During the ceremony, the "Bilge Olgaç Success Awards" were given to actress Bennu Yıldırımlar, casting director Harika Uygur, and producer and festival director Başak Emre. The "Young Witch Award" was also awarded to actress Mina Demirtaş.
44 WOMEN'S FILMS FROM 29 COUNTRIES WILL MEET ART LOVERS
During the ceremony, the female artists of the Ankara State Classical Turkish Music Choir and the "SesVerSus A Capella" group performed. This year, as part of the 28th festival, 44 women's films from 29 countries will meet with art lovers at Kült Kavaklıdere Cinema and Etimesgut Municipality 100th Year Republic Culture Center. The festival will end on June 4.
