Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced the number of Syrians who returned to their country after the fall of Bashar al-Assad. Yerlikaya stated, "Since 2016, a total of 1,126,000 people have returned. This is the first time we are announcing this figure. As of the morning of December 9, 2024, a total of 250,064 people have returned. 47,000 families have returned."

We are announcing this number for the first time. Since the morning of December 9, 2024, until today, 250,064 people have returned.

"THIS NUMBER WILL INCREASE DURING THE SUMMER HOLIDAY"

47,000 families have returned. This number will increase during the summer holiday when schools close. There are 3,988,157 foreigners in Turkey. The number of Syrians under temporary protection is 2,711,170. 1,104,385 people have residence permits. The number of those under international protection is 172,602.
