A former special operations police officer named Ahmet Şahin Uçar resigned from his position and established a religious sect. This organization, which operates in the Arifane İlim Derneği in Bursa, claims to follow the path of Ahmed Muhammed Ticani and the teachings of Ibn Arabi. It was alleged that Ahmet Şahin Uçar sexually abused his followers, including a woman named 'Ç.', who filed a complaint with the prosecutor's office.

Women who left the sect accused Ahmet Şahin Uçar of exploiting his followers in the three-story Arifane İlim Derneği building, the guesthouse, and through phone calls in Bursa Yıldırım. Ahmet Şahin Uçar has 40,800 subscribers on his YouTube channel called "Arifane İlim Derneği" where he claims to explain the teachings of Ibn Arabi. He attracts a large audience and recruits followers through his videos.

PEOPLE COME FROM ABROAD AS WELL

Women who filed complaints with the prosecutors say that after reading Ibn Arabi's books, they watched Ahmet Şahin Uçar's videos and contacted him. Female followers from different countries and Turkey claim that Ahmet Şahin Uçar asked for their naked photos and videos, saying things like "I will test you for the sake of Allah," "I will erase your records and rebuild you," and "I will reveal secrets to you." One female follower who sent her naked videos and photos described her experiences.

A FEMALE FOLLOWER DESCRIBES HER EXPERIENCES OF SEXUAL ABUSE

According to a report by Timur Soykan from BirGün newspaper, the words of a female follower named 'Ç.' were chilling. "I was a curious person interested in Sufism and researching religious topics. I was particularly reading Ibn Arabi's books. I watched Ahmet Şahin Uçar's videos where he claimed to be a spiritual guide. He was reading from Ibn Arabi's books and talking about them. I was happy, thinking that I had fallen into the world of knowledge.

In 2022, I messaged him on his social media account mentioned in his videos. His assistant named Halime called me. She explained the conditions and told me that I had to wear a headscarf, etc.

During this time, they included me in a group called 'Bacıyan'. There were around 30 female followers. He started talking to me privately. This went on for 8 months. I started to believe that one needs a spiritual guide by listening to his lessons. He would say words of love and affection. There are many verses by Mevlana about love and his love for Şems. So, I thought it was normal. I recited my daily prayers and read my lessons.

"HE MADE ADVANCES TOWARDS ME"

One day, he said, "You can message me without hesitation. Express your love for me." I replied, "We love you, Hoca." He told me that he would test me. He said, "Spiritual guides test their followers to see if they are worthy of keeping secrets."

I thought, "Maybe he will ask me to steal something."

But he made advances towards me. I can't say it (crying).

"COME TO ME NAKED"

He said, "Come to me naked." I replied, "I guess you mean that I should leave all my thoughts behind, Hoca." He said, "No, I mean it literally. Come completely naked." He spoke to me very openly, I can't say it. I was very surprised. I thought it was a test. He said, "I want to tell you a secret. If you want to learn it, you have to do what I say. Either you obey me and surrender to me, or you will be an ordinary follower." He called ordinary followers "tourist followers."

God knows everyone's intentions. I said, "I am doing this for the sake of Allah." I thought the test would only happen once. He first asked for my photos with my hair uncovered. He explained that there was no sin between us since he was my spiritual guide.

"I SENT HIM NAKED VIDEOS AND PHOTOS"

Then it started. He asked for more things. He said that I belonged to him in the spiritual realm. He said, "I will guide you, I will give you the secret." (In response to my question) Yes, he asked for naked videos and photos, and I sent them.

After sending the first photos, I started to regain my senses. Four days had passed. I searched on the internet. That's when I first saw the Badeci Şeyh from Bursa. He had done the same things to me that he did to others. I was horrified. I immediately called him. He got very angry with me. He shouted, "How dare you investigate your spiritual guide? If you want to investigate, leave."

I regretted my research and what I said. I thought, "Maybe he won't do it again." His followers were saying that an Islamic scholar told his follower, "Break your fast. I will give you a secret." The follower did not break his fast. Then, the followers of that scholar said, "If he had broken his fast, he would have made up for it for 61 days and learned the secret. He lost the secret." We believe in these things. We always have the idea that we will be tested.

"THIS IS HOW IT WILL BE IF YOU WANT TO FOLLOW THIS PATH"

Three months passed. We were having lessons. He called me and talked about love. He said, "You have to be affectionate." He talked about the love of Mevlana. He quoted Ibn Arabi, saying, "The spiritual guide blows. If you have the potential to be fire, this fire will ignite, but if you are ashes, it will extinguish." He said, "I am blowing into you. If you want to follow this path, this is how it will be."

Then he asked for my photos again. I sent him the photos. I had to completely surrender my will. He said, "You will never tell anyone. This is our secret." Sometimes we had very rare video calls as well.

He was doing all these things and then sending messages saying, "Allah forgives all sins." Repentance is done to avoid repeating the same mistake, but he didn't say that. It was forbidden to question him. He justified it with Ibn Arabi. According to Ibn Arabi, there is a level of repentance called "repenting from repentance." I constantly read about it. There is a level of love. I thought, "So, I will experience these things with my spiritual guide."

"YOU HAVE TO ABANDON YOUR MIND"

I completely lost my mind. He gave examples from Yunus Emre. He said, "This mind cannot comprehend everything. You cannot find God with your mind and thoughts. These things are not meant to be thought with the mind. We will definitely go with our hearts and souls, abandoning our minds," he said.

I thought I knew about this from Ibn Arabi; You should never ask questions to your spiritual guide. You should always listen. You should always remain silent. I kept everything to myself. I felt guilty in my conscience. I was constantly in sin and suffering. I am a person who loves my spouse very much, and I told him about it. Excuse me, but I don't have any need for sexuality. He is a 60-year-old man. I don't have such feelings.

I told him these things. He started with his empty words, saying, "If you are on the path of Allah and want to progress, you will do what I say."

"YOU CAN DO DISGUSTING THINGS"

While doing all these things, he said, "I am freeing you from your records, freeing you from your past." I told him, "You are destroying the 15 years of guidance, experiences, and knowledge that I have gained." He replied, "I am rebuilding you here." He said he would tell me secrets, but he never did. He was just keeping us busy.

"I think about being with you and I feel like I'm with all women," he said. He was so powerful that he could do them too. This way, his rank would increase. He was talking about being with two women at the same time. "The rank of imagination is very powerful. It says imagine without limits. You can do all the disgusting things too," he said.

"IMAGINE ME"

One day I asked, "How long will I imagine you, teacher?" He was in my prayers, in my prayers, in my sleep. If you don't think of him, you say, "I have a problem." Ahmet Şahin Uçar told me, "You will continue to imagine. You will imagine me even when you are with your spouse." He talks about Ibn Arabi's words about sexuality, saying, "You will only be with me." He tells that he is an arif. Other men don't know. When this man became a mürşit, it appeared in him. "If you want to be mortal, you will think like me, you will act like me," he says.

"I TAKE YOU EASILY, I TAKE YOU FAST"

I have never been to the dergah. I live in a distant city. He always wanted me to come to Bursa, to the dergah. One day he said to me, "If you come to the dergah to get rid of your records, I will ... you. You will taste me for the first time." He asked me how many sisters I had. Unfortunately, one day he asked me to send pictures of my sisters. I didn't send them at first. Months later, he asked again, I sent normal pictures of them. I'm telling you about this disgust. He was telling them what he would do to them.

He said to me, "I'm freeing you from your records. The power of words. You will be much more lustful." But we came here for self-discipline. I wrote this many times: "When will we fast, when will we discipline ourselves." When I answered, he said, "This is my style. I take you easily, I take you fast."

"HE ASKED FOR MY DAUGHTER'S PHOTO"

Then he asked for my daughter's photo. I only sent a picture of her face. He pretended to imagine. And he said, "I'm freeing you from your records. I'm disciplining you. Get used to these things." Do you understand? I no longer had a heart, a soul. I was sinking, frozen, listening. He was using Ibn Arabi again, Ibn Arabi says, "The perfect human cannot be recorded." But the mürşit turns it around. One day I said this, "I love Sharia, I live Sharia." I said, "Of course, you will live Sharia, but you will also make me live Sharia. You can do everything with me. There is no problem, everything is normal," he said.

I started to fear that he would sell me to other people. But a part of me was angry at myself. He says, "Evil thoughts that come to your mind are from the devil." You blame yourself. I said, "What if one day you tell me to send pictures to others?" He said he wouldn't do that. He said, "You are mine."

"YOU WILL BE LIKE ADNAN HOCAS'S KITTENS"

Afterwards, a few women left the group. One of them sent a message saying, "You will be like Adnan Hoca's kittens." Then we called Halime. She said, "They couldn't pass the test. They resisted." We were completely surrendered to Ahmet Şahin Uçar. This is what happens when a person is detached from their brain. Halime's confessions began. She said that others were also doing these things. She said she did it in the dergah, in the guesthouse. They would stay in the room with veiled women for hours, their clothes would be torn apart. I seek refuge in my Lord from being heard. I went to the prosecutor's office to tell them that we were deceived in order to cleanse myself. I want my country to know about these things. People are flocking here. If he does these things to these people, wouldn't my country ask me why I remained silent? Many people come from Germany, the Netherlands, and abroad. The followers of Badeci Şeyh were saying the same things as the people in the tarikat. They were saying, "It's like sucking milk from your mother's breast."

I told these things so that other people wouldn't experience what I experienced. You may think I'm very foolish. I know people will insult me too. But he really convinced me. It was a great sin, forbidden to question the sheikh. I thought I would reach the secrets.
