The Great Unity Party is sending a delegation to Syria.

The delegation of the Great Unity Party will visit Damascus, the capital of Syria, on January 21. In a statement regarding the matter, the party said, "This visit aims to support the strengthening of mutual dialogue and solution-oriented efforts in Turkey's relations with Syria."

After the overthrow of the 61-year bloody Ba'ath regime in Syria, things are falling into place. A delegation from the Great Unity Party will be the latest to visit the region, which has seen high-level visits from Turkey.

WORK WILL BE EXAMINED ON-SITE

During the visit of the delegation led by Deputy Chairman Emin Serin, humanitarian and political efforts in the region will be evaluated on-site. In a statement regarding the issue, it was said, "Contacts will be made to contribute to the efforts our state is carrying out in this regard. As the Great Unity Party, we will continue to support every constructive step for regional peace and brotherhood."

WHO IS EMİN SERİN?

Born on March 20, 1973, in Sivas. After graduating from the Military Academy in 1995, Serin served in the Turkish Armed Forces in Trabzon Maçka and Şırnak, and then served as the Gerede Garrison Commander and Military Branch Chief between 2001-2007. During the same period, he also served as the Personnel Branch Manager at the EUFOR International Headquarters in Bosnia and Herzegovina in 2005.
