The accident occurred at 9:30 AM on Sunday when a black Robinson R44 helicopter lost control while approaching its hangar. The helicopter, attempting to land, struck a parked white airplane. The rotor blades, still spinning at the moment of impact, hit the airplane multiple times and shattered.
According to a statement from the Brazoria County Sheriff's Office, the pilot, who was alone in the helicopter, escaped the accident unscathed. Emergency service teams that arrived at the scene determined that the pilot did not require medical attention.
