More than 16 million retirees are focused on the bonuses they will receive during the holiday. At the beginning of this year, SSK and Bağ-Kur retirees received a 15.75% increase, while civil servant retirees received an 11.54% increase. The increased salaries have not yet been deposited into accounts. The lowest pension has been raised to 14,469 TL, taking into account the 15.75% inflation difference. A bill related to this issue is on the agenda of the Parliament. It will be reflected in pension payments after it becomes law. This year, Ramadan Feast will be celebrated on March 30, and Sacrifice Feast will be celebrated on June 6. According to information published in Habertürk, although there are still two and a half months until Ramadan Feast, retirees who are struggling to make ends meet are eagerly awaiting their holiday bonuses. The issue of bonuses also requires legal regulation. LAST YEAR, 3 THOUSAND TL WAS PAIDLast year, retirees were paid 3 thousand TL during both holidays. This year, retirees expect at least a bonus of 5 thousand TL, but signals from the government indicate that such an increase will not be made. "THERE IS CURRENTLY NO WORK BEING DONE"Government sources state that there is currently no work being done on this issue, but they express that they will bring this topic to the agenda during the process. It is noted that if there is to be an increase in retirement bonuses, a budget source needs to be created for this. Last year, the Treasury resorted to borrowing while paying bonuses. THE BONUS WILL BE A MAXIMUM OF 4 THOUSAND TLThere is a prevailing opinion that a 500 TL increase will be made in retirement bonuses, but it is stated that with the intervention of President Erdoğan, a regulation could be made to ease the situation for retirees, and even in this case, the holiday bonuses would be raised to a maximum of 4 thousand TL. If retirement bonuses are raised to 4 thousand TL, a budget allocation of 128 billion TL will be required for 16 million retirees during the two holidays. In this case, either a budget allocation will be made or external borrowing will be resorted to.
