Okan Karacan, the host who was released in connection with money laundering allegations against GAİN Media, has become a whistleblower by taking advantage of the effective remorse provisions. In his statement, Karacan mentioned that he was given 300,000 lira in a bag for a commercial shoot, saying, "I believe that the money laundered through Marsbahis is present in certain places. I know that they keep the money in cash and gold."
The investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office regarding the allegations of 'money laundering' against GAİN Media is ongoing.
FAMOUS HOST BECAME A WHISTLEBLOWER
It has emerged that the host Okan Karacan, who was recently released under judicial control as part of the investigation, provided a statement benefiting from the effective remorse provisions.
"THEY GAVE 300 THOUSAND TL IN A BAG"
In his statement, Karacan expressed his desire to benefit from the effective remorse provisions, stating, "I have no joint action with GAİN Media companies. Berkin Kaya and Barbaros Reşat Gülcan came to me and asked me to shoot the 'Marsbahis' advertisement film. I accepted. We set up a set in Maltepe. M.T. and İ.O.Ç. acted in the advertisement film. We shot the film and delivered it. I received the money in cash and gave it to my ex-wife. Berkin is a partner in the company I manage. They introduced Barbaros Reşat Gülcan to me as the chairman of the board, and during the advertisement film shoot, he brought 300 thousand lira in a bag to the set. I recognized Selahattin as the owner of GAİN and Anahat Holding," he said.

Karacan, who stated that he was taken to his cousin's office through Berkin Kaya in 2021, said, "Then we moved to B.S.'s office. He said it was the most important advertising agency in Turkey. He said we needed to buy this place for 100 million lira and that my wife Zeynep Karacan should be put in charge. I learned that the office was rented. B.S. tried to sell this office. He said that if we bought the agency, he would not resign and would supervise my wife. I said there was not enough information about this and got up from the table and left the meeting. Later, at a different time, we sat on a yacht. B.S. leaned over and said, 'bro, don't get involved with these guys, they will film and blackmail you, they will ask for money.' I stayed at the hotel with my own money," he stated.
HE EXPLAINED HOW THE MONEY WAS LAUNDERED
Continuing his statement, Karacan said, "Selahattin Aydın called me, saying let's meet in the office to approve his work and make you a board member, let's connect the sponsorships and dramas to you, approve the projects you want, we have an annual turnover of 232 billion, I am bringing a team from America to take charge of GAİN, I received 18 projects from Berkin, I will approve all of them, eight will be published, I am canceling ten, on January 26, we will have no connection with him anymore," he said. He also mentioned, "The building in Karaköy is mine, you can use it as an office, I gathered GAİN there, it has been very good for us," he said. He also suggested apologizing to Erkan for why he was removed from his position. "I met with Barbaros in 2020, the notary came to the office, we have the power to bring the notary to us because we are 'Marsbet.' We are establishing a company in your name, we will ruin your life. Mr. Berkin intervened, saying let's not upset Mr. Okan with such words, the company will be in Mr. Okan's name," he said. In his statement, Karacan also said, "Barbaros Reşat Gülcan managed all the money traffic and told me I should covet him. He also told me he wrote the software for Marsbet's prepayment system. I evaluate that the money laundered through Marsbahis is in various places. I know they keep the money in cash and gold. I saw that there was money in the lower level of Berkin's yacht. In his ex-wife's mansion in Bodrum Yalıkavak, in the apartment on the first floor across from Berkin's villa, in the apartment used by his elementary school friend, in E.S.'s villa, in the company in Levent where he previously had a partnership, in S.A.'s house in Zekeriyaköy, Kaan K.'s house, and in A.Y.'s office in Kağıthane, I think there is a large amount of money obtained from Marsbahis," he stated.
