It has been claimed that the İzocam rock wool facility operating in the Dilovası district of Kocaeli has decided to halt production. The factory, which was established in 1965 and is the first facility owned by the company, is said to be completely closing by the end of 2025.

The claim that İzocam's rock wool production facility in Dilovası, Kocaeli, will close after 60 years of operation has hit the agenda like a bomb. The company management informed employees today that production will cease as of December 28, and details regarding severance pay and bonuses will be clarified after discussions with the Kristal-İş Union.

IT HAS 2 SEPARATE PRODUCTION FACILITIES

According to a report by Mehmet Çabukel from Kocaeli Barış newspaper; İzocam, established in 1965 under Koç Holding, was sold in 2006 to a partnership between Compagnie de Saint-Gobain S.A and Kuwaiti businessman Kutayba Yusuf Ahmed Algham. The company has two separate production facilities in Kocaeli, located in Gebze and Dilovası.

The rock wool factory in Dilovası, which is İzocam's first production facility, started operations in 1965. The company's other facility was established in 1982 in Gebze and produces panels. According to the information obtained, production at the rock wool facility in Dilovası will be completely halted on December 28. During the information meeting held today, company executives officially informed employees that the factory would be closed after its 60-year journey.
