Büşra Karakaş made a written statement regarding the allegations that Russian tourist Maria Avdienko was assaulted at a birthday party in Istanbul. Karakaş denied the assault claims, asserting that Avdienko entered the party uninvited, conducted secret filming, and demanded money to avoid leaving. She stated that there were no signs of violence in the camera footage and expressed that the incident had turned into blackmail.
Russian tourist Maria Avdienko (25), who came to Istanbul for vacation, claimed that she was assaulted by businessman A.D. at a birthday party organized in Beşiktaş by model and kickboxing athlete Büşra Karakaş.
Following the allegations that became the focus of the agenda, Karakaş published a written statement regarding the accusations against her.
"SHE WAS NOT INVITED, CAUGHT WHILE TAKING SECRET FOOTAGE" In her statement, Karakaş reminded that she is an athlete who has represented Turkey on national and international platforms, and firmly denied Avdienko's claims.
Stating that the incident occurred during a private birthday celebration on November 18, 2025, Karakaş expressed that the Russian tourist "forced herself to be invited" to the event by contacting someone via social media despite not being invited.
Karakaş noted that Avdienko was caught while secretly recording with smart glasses without the knowledge of the guests, and said that this person exhibited "strange and provocative" behaviors.
Moments when Maria Avdienko was secretly recording with smart glasses "SHE REQUESTED MONEY, WAS REMOVED WITHOUT VIOLENCE" Karakaş's statement included the following remarks:
"Upon realizing that she was recording secretly, she was asked to leave the event. In response to this request, she exhibited aggressive behavior and resisted leaving, demanding money in exchange for her departure from the event area. The individual was removed from the environment without any acts of violence or assault."
It was noted that law enforcement also arrived at the venue that night. Karakaş stated that Avdienko did not file any complaints about anyone at the police station that night, and both parties left the police station.
"THE PROCESS TURNED INTO A BLACKMAIL ATTEMPT" In the continuation of the statement, Karakaş emphasized that there were no images of assault or violence in the prosecutor's file and the police station's camera recordings.
Stating that Avdienko filed a complaint eight days after the incident, Karakaş noted that the report did not reveal any concrete signs of assault. Karakaş argued that the process has turned into an attempt at blackmail and defamation, announcing that they have initiated legal and criminal proceedings against the relevant individuals, and that the case is being followed by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.
