Zafer Emanet, the worker injured in the explosion at Oba Pasta factory in Hendek district of Sakarya, described the horrifying moments. Emanet said, "It exploded so violently that we were left with no clothes on us, our shoes flew off. I was working, doing my job. There was a white light for 4 seconds. When I turned my head, everything was destroyed and it was on fire inside. We couldn't get out from inside. We were trapped for a certain period of time."

In the explosion that occurred at Oba Pasta factory in Hendek district of Sakarya, 25 workers were injured. Injured worker Zafer Emanet described the moment of the explosion, saying, 'It exploded so much that we didn't have any clothes left on us, our shoes flew away.' After the explosion, a fire broke out in the factory, and interventions are ongoing.

EXPLOSION AT PASTA FACTORY

An explosion occurred at Oba Pasta factory, located at TEM Highway Hendek toll booths, around 13:15. After the explosion, a fire broke out in the factory. Upon the notification made to the 112 Emergency Call Center, many fire, health, AFAD, forest, police, and gendarmerie personnel were dispatched to the region, including Sakarya, Düzce, and Kocaeli. Firefighters who quickly arrived at the scene started working to extinguish the fire. Those rescued from inside and the injured affected by the incident were taken to the hospital after the initial interventions by the health teams.

Sakarya Governor Yaşar Karadeniz announced that according to initial determinations, 21 people were injured. In the latest statement from Sakarya Governorship, it was stated that 25 people, 6 of whom are seriously injured, were injured and 2 of them were intubated.

The cooling operations by the fire brigade at the factory and the interventions on the injured at the hospital are ongoing. 7 of the workers, who were taken to Hendek State Hospital and had second-degree burns on their bodies, were transferred to Kocaeli City Hospital by ambulances, and 8 of them were transferred to Sakarya Training and Research Hospital. The relatives of the injured workers are waiting in front of the hospital for good news.

Zafer Emanet, an injured worker who told Sakarya Governor Yaşar Karadeniz and Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Yusuf Alemdar about what happened at the factory, said, "Something collapsed after it exploded. I was trapped underneath, then I got out. There were more than 20 people in the section where I was. It exploded so much that we didn't have any clothes left on us, our shoes flew away. I was working, doing my job. A white light turned on for 4 seconds. When I turned my head, everything was destroyed and it was on fire inside. We couldn't get out from inside. We were trapped for a certain period of time."

Zafer Emanet's mother, who experienced emotional moments, hugged Sakarya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Yusuf Alemdar and shed tears. Mayor Alemdar comforted the injured relatives in front of the hospital.
