The institution's "forest" reaction to the DEM Party's deputies.

The "forest" polemic took place in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey. Minister Kurum responded harshly to the claims made by DEM Party members that forest destruction was occurring and environmental disasters were happening.

"HOLD PKK ACCOUNTABLE FOR THE FORESTS IT BURNED"

Minister Murat Kurum, who came to the podium to speak, also targeted DEM Party MP Ömer Faruk Hülakü. Kurum stated that Hülakü portrayed himself as an environmentally friendly MP, saying, "You should go and hold accountable those who burned the forests of the PKK."

"WHERE WERE YOU WHEN THE FORESTS WERE TURNING TO ASH?"

Kurum asked the DEM Party members, "Since you were so environmentally conscious, why didn’t you speak up when the terrorist organization was targeting the lungs of our country and burning its forests?" He added, "Where were you when those beautiful forests, animals, plants, and villages were burning to ashes?"

"WE WON'T LEARN ENVIRONMENTALISM FROM YOU"

Minister Kurum stated that they would not learn environmentalism from the DEM Party members, continuing: "We will not learn environmentalism from you or from your partners who have the mud of the Golden Horn in their hands. We will not learn environmentalism from those who polluted the monstrous buildings you constructed on Mount Kırklar in Diyarbakır."
