In the Pasinler district of Erzurum, police teams conducted an operation reminiscent of movie scenes to capture the suspect in a murder case stemming from a debt issue. The suspect, who was hiding in a bungalow house in the Erzurum Plain, was monitored for approximately 10 hours by drones and teams. In the operation named after the surname of Homicide Bureau Chief Enes Keleş, who was injured in an accident a few days ago, the suspect and a relative were apprehended.
Last week, at a gas station market in the Pasinler district of Erzurum, contractor Y.I. (31), who had a financial dispute with oil operator Hayati Yazıcı (44), fired three shots at Yazıcı's chest with a gun.
YAZICI LOST HIS LIFE, CONTRACTOR DISAPPEARED
Yazıcı died at the scene, while Y.I., who fled the area in a black vehicle, disappeared. Turan Ö., identified as the owner of the vehicle, was detained shortly after the murder. In his statement, Turan Ö. claimed he had no connection to the incident, stating that he was in the Karaçoban district at the time of the event, and that he had previously dropped the individual off near the entrance of Hınıs district, not knowing where he went afterward.
TEAMS PRESSED THE BUTTON FOR THE OPERATION
Following the murder, police and gendarmerie teams launched a large-scale operation to capture Y.I. and the individuals who supported him. Checkpoints were established at the district exits, and the suspect's escape routes were monitored through security cameras. After a week of surveillance, the murder suspect Y.I. and three individuals were apprehended in a bungalow house in the Erzurum Plain as a result of an operation that rivaled movies.
THE HOUSE THEY HID IN WAS MONITORED FOR 10 HOURS WITH DRONES
Teams that intensified their search and efforts determined that the suspect had come to a house in the hobby gardens of Çayırca Neighborhood in Yakutiye district by car and was hiding there. The bungalow house was monitored by an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) and teams for approximately 10 hours and was put under surveillance. Meanwhile, a vehicle that left the house at the same time was also followed.
THEY WERE CAUGHT IN A MOVIE-LIKE OPERATION
Suspects E.S. (36) and Ö.Y. (33) in the vehicle stopped near the Erzurum bus station were detained. After necessary evaluations, an operation was launched with the support of the special operations police (PÖH) team and the Aviation Department. As a result of the police operation, murder suspect Y.I. and his relative A.I. were detained.
THE NAME OF THE INJURED MURDER BUREAU CHIEF WAS RELEASED
During the search at the address, three firearms and a large number of cartridges were seized along with the weapon used in the crime. The individuals were taken to Erzurum City Hospital for a health check before being taken to the police station. Meanwhile, the name of the Erzurum Police Department's Murder Bureau Chief Enes Keleş, who was injured in an accident a few days prior to the operation, was released.
