The Nevruz celebration organized by the DEM Party in Yenikapı was marked by a "Mansur Yavaş" protest. In response to Yavaş's statement, "While flags that are rags in the East are being waved, the police handed out cotton candies to those going to the rally," DEM Party members hung posters saying, "Mansur, take some cotton candy."

In a speech he made the other day in Saraçhane, recalling the police distributing cotton candy to those attending the Nevruz event held in Cizre, Şırnak, he stated, "Yesterday, while rags that I consider to be rags were waved somewhere in the east, cotton candies were given to those going to that rally." DEM Party members reacted with banners they opened.
