The Ministry of Culture and Tourism made a statement regarding the claims. Denying the allegations, the ministry stated, "The Grand Kartal Hotel has a business opening and operating license issued by the Bolu Provincial Special Administration, which was valid at the time of the fire, as well as a tourism operation certificate granted based on this license. The documents related to the hotel have been submitted to the Bolu Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, which is conducting the investigation."
22 PEOPLE ARRESTED
In the investigation regarding the fire disaster that claimed the lives of 78 people, 22 individuals have been arrested so far, including the hotel owner Halit Ergül, general manager Emir Aras, Bolu Deputy Mayor Sedat Gülener, Acting Fire Chief Kenan Coşkun, Bolu Provincial Special Administration Secretary General Sırrı Köstereli, and Assistant Secretary General Bünyamin Bal.
