The Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change imposed an administrative fine of 3 million 739 thousand 452 lira on the Bayraklı Municipality of İzmir due to "illegal dumping" occurring on a plot of land in the Doğançay neighborhood.
"ILLEGAL DUMPING" DETECTED
According to a statement from the ministry, inspections conducted by the İzmir Provincial Directorate teams revealed that illegal dumping was taking place on the land located in the Doğançay neighborhood.
During the investigation carried out by the teams, it was determined that waste consisting of excavation and household waste, as well as old items, was being stored in the area by the Bayraklı Municipality.
FOUND TO BE IN VIOLATION OF THE ENVIRONMENTAL LAW
According to the Environmental Law, an administrative fine of 3 million 739 thousand 452 lira was imposed on the Bayraklı Municipality.
The statement also noted that a criminal complaint had been filed against those responsible.
