In the Tarsus district of Mersin, A.Ç., whose restraining order expired at the end of last month, shot and killed his wife, who is in the process of divorce, with a rifle in the house he moved into two months ago. It has been reported that in his initial statement, the murderous husband claimed he committed the murder because his wife had obtained a restraining order against him.

HE KILLED HIS WIFE, HIS CHILD REPORTED TO THE POLICE
According to the information received, in the incident that occurred early in the morning, the suspect A.Ç. went to the front of the house and shot his estranged wife Emine Ç. (42), who had previously obtained a restraining order, with a shotgun. Upon hearing the gunshots, İ.Ç. (24), one of the children who went outside, saw that his father had fled the area in a vehicle and reported the situation to the police. The police and medical teams who arrived at the scene determined that the woman had lost her life.

After the investigation, the body was taken to the hospital morgue. Meanwhile, the suspect husband went to the district police department and surrendered. The weapon used by the suspect in the incident was found in a vehicle he left in a site garden and was seized. It was learned that in his first statement, the suspect said he committed the murder because his wife had obtained a restraining order against him.
ONLY 1 MONTH HAS PASSED SINCE THE RESTRAINING ORDER EXPIRED
On the other hand, it was reported that Emine Ç., a mother of 4, moved to the neighborhood 2 months ago, and the restraining order she obtained expired at the end of last month.
One of the neighbors, Birgül Çelik, stated that she heard gunshots and that the shot woman died at the scene, adding that the family had moved to the neighborhood recently. An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
19 WOMEN WERE MURDERED ONLY IN OCTOBER
According to the data from the We Will Stop Femicide Platform; only in October, 19 women were murdered, and 22 women were found dead under suspicious circumstances. 42% of the women were killed by family members.
THE REASONS FOR THE MURDER OF 11 WOMEN COULD NOT BE DETERMINED
Of the 19 murdered women, 7 were killed on the pretext of wanting a divorce, refusing to reconcile, refusing to marry, or rejecting a relationship, while 1 was killed for the shortcomings of her daughter's henna ceremony, and the reasons for the murder of 11 women could not be determined.
