After the end of the Assad regime, there has been an increase in demand for flag production companies in Turkey due to the change of flags in Syria. Manufacturers, who stated that orders started coming in as of December 8, reported that nearly 1 million flags have been produced. Following the recent developments in Syria, flag orders in Turkey have increased, and flag manufacturers have started working three shifts. The Syrian flag, which features two green stars on a red, white, and black background, was changed on December 7 with the end of the Assad regime. With the introduction of the new flag, orders to flag production companies in Turkey have intensified. The new flag, consisting of green, white, and black colors with three red stars on a white background, was first used by the opposition at the end of 2011. On the other hand, the new flag, known as the design used when Syria gained independence from France, is being produced by many companies in Turkey. "THERE IS SERIOUS DEMAND"Mehmet Eren, who produces flags in Istanbul, stated, "After the fall of Damascus on December 7, there has been a serious demand. So far, we have produced nearly 1 million flags. We have produced flags in various sizes, including 50x75 and 30x45, as well as flags that can be waved and scarves. Our orders are still ongoing. We have the capacity to print about 200,000 flags daily. We are working day and night with an intense pace. Our Syrian friends in Turkey have started placing orders for flags and scarves to send to their country. Of course, in addition to these, we are also continuing our work with many countries abroad. Currently, we are only sending our Syrian flags to Syria, but there is indeed a very serious demand. We have a staff of 30 people, and our personnel continue to produce the Syrian flag in shifts 24 hours a day," he said. "ORDERS STARTED IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE REGIME CHANGE"Eren pointed out that orders started immediately after the regime change, saying, "The designs came in on the same day, and we already have graphic designers in our team who adapted the designs for printing, and we immediately went into production. We started printing on the same day. We were quite surprised when there was a significant increase in demand, so we switched to shifts and continued production. We are currently working intensively. This work may continue for another week or ten days, and then it may stop, and we will return to our old trade, which happens from time to time," he expressed. FLAGS GO THROUGH THREE STAGESEren discussed the three stages of production, stating, "Flag production used to be much more difficult and laborious, but now our graphic designers prepare the flag design immediately. Then we can load it onto our machines and start production right away. Of course, after our flags come out of the machines, they go through another hot oven in other machines. After that, they reach their original form. Then the cutting stage begins, and there is also the sewing part. If it is to be a pole flag, it is given a pole form, and production continues in this way," he explained.
