ABC television's famous anchor David Muir, reporting on the major fire in Los Angeles, drew criticism on social media for pinning his firefighter jacket to look more charismatic. While broadcasting live from the Pacific Palisades area, which was hit hardest by the disaster, Muir was seen pinning the ABC-logoed firefighter jacket at the back to fit his body better. Viewers found it "pathetic" that the anchor was concerned about his appearance while reporting on a disaster that caused thousands to lose their homes. Jack Osbourne, son of famous rock star Ozzy Osbourne, reacted to the anchor by saying, "Nice jacket, brother. While our city burns to ashes, you keep looking stylish with your pinned jacket." Although the New York Post noted that using pins to adjust clothing during television broadcasts is common, viewers found it inappropriate for the anchor to do such a thing, especially while reporting on a major disaster. Meanwhile, the situation regarding the fires in Los Angeles is worsening. In the fires that are ongoing in five different areas of the city, 130,000 people have been forced to evacuate their homes, and five people have lost their lives. Homes of celebrities like Paris Hilton, John Goodman, and Billy Crystal have been completely destroyed. In what is the largest fire in the city's history, 17,000 acres have turned to ash in Palisades, while the fire in the Hollywood Hills threatens the famous Hollywood sign and the Hollywood Bowl. The mansions of Leonardo DiCaprio, Lady Gaga, and Quentin Tarantino are also at risk. While 1,800 firefighters are working tirelessly, the city administration stated, "We will not give up, we will rebuild." Three people were caught looting in the fire-affected areas.
