60-year-old İlhan Cevahir, who was being treated for suspected Crimean-Congo Hemorrhagic Fever (CCHF) in Sivas, has died.

The news from Sivas was frightening. A 60-year-old man who went from Istanbul to his hometown became ill a few days after collecting wild greens (madımak) in the village. The father of two, who was taken to the hospital on suspicion of Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever (CCHF), brought tragic news in the morning. DEATH ON SUSPICION OF CCHF

İlhan Cevahir (60), living in Istanbul, went to his hometown of Akıncılar district in Sivas. İlhan Cevahir, married and a father of two, living in Ballıdere village of Akıncılar district, fell ill after collecting wild greens on his village land 10 days ago. He was taken to Akıncılar State Hospital by his relatives, and when his condition worsened, he was transferred to Sivas Cumhuriyet University Medical Faculty Hospital.

TRAGIC NEWS FROM HOMETOWN

After examinations, Cevahir was treated on suspicion of CCHF but could not be saved despite all interventions and passed away.

The funeral of İlhan Cevahir, a father of two, will be handed over to his relatives after procedures. Cevahir's funeral will be buried in his village.
