Burger King, which was boycotted for supporting Israel, faced backlash after the opening of its branch in Afyonkarahisar, leading to the resignation of İbrahim Özgül, the AK Party Dinar District Chairman, who attended the event.
Due to its support for Israel, Burger King, which has been boycotted, opened branches in Rize and Izmir in recent months, causing a crisis, and a similar incident occurred in Afyonkarahisar. A new branch of the famous fast food chain Burger King was opened last Friday at İyaş AVM in the Dinar district.

Following the reactions, the AK Party Afyonkarahisar Provincial Presidency took action. In a statement, it was noted that District Chairman İbrahim Özgül had resigned.
