Ugandan opposition party leader Bobi Wine was whisked away by helicopter from his home to an unknown location following a tense election. A statement from the party led by Wine indicated that a military helicopter landed at Wine's home and that he was forcibly taken aboard the helicopter.

It has been reported that Bobi Wine, one of the leading figures of the opposition in Uganda, was taken from his home by a military operation to an unknown location just one day after the tense elections. The statement came from the National Unity Platform Party, led by Wine.

KIDNAPPED BY HELICOPTER

In a post made by the party on X, it was stated that an army helicopter landed in the area where Wine's home is located, and Bobi Wine was forcibly taken aboard the helicopter. The statement also mentioned that Wine's private security personnel were subjected to violence during the operation.

Bobi Wine, whose real name is Robert Kyagulanyi, had previously stated that police forces surrounded his house and that he was effectively under house arrest. This development occurred immediately after elections overshadowed by violence and internet outages in the country.
