The Ministry of Justice has published a new tariff determining payments to lawyers according to the Criminal Procedure Code for the year 2026 in the Official Gazette. Payments, varying from the investigation stage to serious criminal cases, will be effective from January 1st.
The 2026 Tariff for Payments to Assigned Defenders and Attorneys Prepared by the Ministry of Justice in Accordance with the Code of Criminal Procedure (CMK) has been published in the Official Gazette. Accordingly, for the cases followed during the investigation phase, lawyers will be paid 4,027 lira, and for the cases followed in peace criminal courts, 6,273 lira will be paid.
For the cases followed in criminal courts of first instance, lawyers will be paid 6,904 lira, for the cases followed under the summary trial procedure, 2,883 lira, and for the cases followed in heavy criminal courts, 12,387 lira will be paid. For the cases followed in juvenile courts, lawyers will be paid 6,904 lira, and for the cases followed in juvenile heavy criminal courts, 12,387 lira will be paid.
TARIFF VALID FROM JANUARY 1
For cases followed in courts such as execution criminal courts and intellectual and industrial property rights criminal courts, lawyers will be paid 6,904 lira, for hearings in regional appellate courts, 12,387 lira, and for hearings in the Court of Cassation, 13,945 lira will be paid. The tariff will be considered valid from January 1.
