The penalty for the service driver who filmed obscene images of an autistic child has been determined.

Last year, a disturbing incident occurred in the Yıldırım district of Bursa. Ahmet Akşit (50), who worked as a driver at a special rehabilitation center for children with autism, delivered the children to their families on the day the guidance teacher at the center did not get on the vehicle due to migraine pain.

CHILD'S OBSCENE IMAGES WERE FOUND ON HIS PHONE

Akşit told the 12-year-old girl named M.Ç., who was the last child left in the vehicle, that she had wet herself and took obscene photos of her. M.Ç., who was delivered 20 minutes late, told her family about what she experienced. After a complaint, Akşit, a father of three, was detained, and photos he had taken were found on his examined mobile phone. After his procedures at the police station, he was brought to the court where he was arrested and sent to prison.

HE CONFESSED HIS CRIME

Detained defendant Akşit appeared before the judge at the Bursa 18th High Criminal Court. Akşit, who confessed to his crime in court, stated that he only took photos of the child and did not remove her clothes himself.

"THE DEFENDANT CARRIED OUT THE ACT IN A PLANNED MANNER"

The lawyer of the victim's family, Barış Aydın, stated that Akşit planned the incident, saying, "The victim is a special child with autism. The driver exploited the victim using the authority he had. Although the victim is autistic, she felt shame due to the education she received from her family and told them about the incident. The defendant planned this act by leaving the victim until last while dropping off the children. My client has been going to the same rehabilitation center for a year. During this time, she has never wet herself. We do not accept the defense that she removed her own clothes. We request that the defendant be punished at the highest level and that the detention status be continued."

HE WAS SENTENCED TO 10 YEARS IN PRISON

In the third hearing, the court panel announced its decision, sentencing Ahmet Akşit to 4 years and 2 months for the crime of "Obscenity" for the photos he took, and 6 years and 3 months for "Sexual abuse of a child" for touching the child while removing her clothes, totaling 10 years and 5 months in prison, and decided to continue his detention.
