WHAT HAD HAPPENED?
Pehlivan, who was referred to the Peace Criminal Court with a request for arrest on the grounds of "membership in an organization established for the purpose of committing a crime," was arrested on June 19 after his defense at the Peace Criminal Court.
In his statement, Pehlivan said regarding the allegation that meetings were held with lawyers, "The YTT Law Office, which Soytekin claims held meetings, has been representing Adem Soytekin for over 10 years."
Pehlivan also responded to the allegation that Soytekin's former legal advisor and criminal law expert, Prof. Dr. İzzet Özgenç, was also "invited to the meetings," stating, "I have never been in the same environment as İzzet Özgenç in my life. In fact, I do not even remember being in the same city. Moreover, I think that after Mr. Özgenç made legal comments on social media regarding this case, his name was added to this statement at the last minute."
