In İzmir's Buca Municipality, the work stoppage of workers who had not received their salaries ended following an agreement between the municipality and the union. Buca Mayor Görkem Duman stated in a social media post that they took an important step regarding the salary payment issue as a result of their discussions with the General-İş Union İzmir Branch No. 6.

THE WORK STOPPAGE HAS BEEN GOING ON SINCE SEPTEMBER 9

Duman expressed that there have been disruptions in services due to the difficulties faced by employees as a result of the decrease in municipal revenues and the effects of past debts, and he noted: "As a result of the agreement we made with DİSK General-İş Branch No. 6, the work stoppage in our municipality has ended today. As the municipal administration, we will continue to take the necessary measures to prevent similar situations from occurring in the future." A total of 1,885 workers employed at Buca Municipality's subsidiary Buca İmar ve İnşaat Sanayi Teknik Hizmetler AŞ (BUCAMAR) had initiated a work stoppage on September 9.
