The incident occurred on August 25th around 08:00 in Akasya Street, Orhaniye Neighborhood of Menteşe. The residents who heard a scream on the street reported it to the 112 Emergency Call Center. Health and police teams were dispatched to the scene upon the report. The police determined that Senem Kıvrık was hit on the head with a stick and stabbed in the abdomen. She was taken to Muğla Education and Research Hospital but couldn't be saved. The police identified the suspect who fled the scene with his car as Muhittin Kıvrık, the husband of Senem Kıvrık who had resigned from his position as an ambulance driver at Muğla Metropolitan Municipality 15 days before the incident.
CAUGHT WITH THE HELP OF A DRONE
Efforts were initiated to capture Muhittin Kıvrık, who had a restraining order against him for 3 months. The officers from the Homicide Bureau of Muğla Provincial Police Department's Public Security Branch, using a drone, located and apprehended Kıvrık in the forest area in İkizce. Kıvrık, who was taken into custody, was arrested after the necessary procedures at the courthouse.
MURDER CAUGHT ON CAMERA
Meanwhile, it was learned that Senem had eloped and married Muhittin Kıvrık, whom her family opposed during their high school years. After the funeral prayer held at Kurşunlu Mosque, Senem Kıvrık's body, carried on the shoulders of women, was buried in Şehir Yeni Cemetery yesterday with tears. The moments when Senem Kıvrık was stabbed were captured by a security camera of a building. The footage shows Muhittin Kıvrık pushing Senem Kıvrık to the ground, then leaning over her and stabbing her multiple times before walking away.
SON PREVIOUSLY SAID HIS FATHER HAD ASSAULTED HIS MOTHER
In his statement to the prosecutor's office, Muhittin Kıvrık explained that there had been problems in their marriage for the past 3 months. When the prosecutor asked about his son Yiğit's statement that his father had assaulted his mother 3 months ago but his mother didn't file a complaint, Kıvrık said, "I remember the date as July 17th. We had a heated argument in the car while returning from a wedding in Gölcük with my wife Senem and my younger son Kerem. At that moment, my wife made a move to take the car off the road, and I braked sharply, causing Senem to hit her head on the dashboard. She was injured as a result. Our son Yiğit was not with us at the time. Therefore, he might have attributed her injuries that day to me assaulting his mother."
"I HAD THE KNIFE WITH ME BECAUSE OF MY INTEREST IN HUNTING"
Muhittin Kıvrık claimed that he had searched for the words "knife" and "blade" on the internet the day before the incident because of his interest in hunting. He explained the following: "I was carrying a bread knife with me because of my interest in hunting. I also had a shotgun in the car, which had a bullet in its mouth, because of my interest in hunting. On the day of the incident, around 06:30 in the morning, I went to Karabağlar Yaylası area located behind the industrial zone to go hunting. I came back without catching anything. When I returned, I wanted to talk to my wife Senem. We met on the road, but I didn't follow her with my car. I might have driven around to withdraw money. I parked my car in Orhaniye Neighborhood. I sat in the car because I was bored at home."
HEINOUS DEFENSE FROM THE HUSBAND
"I saw Senem while passing by. I got out of the car to talk to her. I approached her without calling out to her. She saw me and stopped. We started talking. We talked for about 3-4 minutes. She kept insulting me and saying 'Go away, don't come near me.' She said, 'I cheated on you.' These words provoked me a lot. I lost control and we started pushing each other. During this, she fell to the ground and hit her head on the curb. She came at me, so I pushed her away. She said, 'I will kill you.' I thought she could kill me, so I stabbed her with the knife. There was no situation where she cheated on me. I didn't see her with anyone else. I don't know how many times I stabbed her. I didn't hit her head with a stick or any hard object. We didn't have any conversation or argument in my car. The incident happened on the street. I threw the knife by the roadside while fleeing the scene. I was going to call 112, but the buttons on my phone didn't work. I called my friend Serdar, but he was working."

When asked by the prosecutor about his internet searches for "How can I make my husband faulty?" and "How to find a lawyer from the bar association?", Kıvrık said, "Any citizen can search for these things. That's why I searched for them. That's all I have to say."
