According to data from the Turkish Statistical Institute, in September, the highest annual increase in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) was recorded in the housing group at 97.87%, while the highest monthly increase was observed in the education group. According to inflation data, the rent increase rate for homes and workplaces stood out at 63.47%.

In the Consumer Price Index (CPI), the highest annual increase in the main expenditure groups in September was 97.87% in the housing group. The rent increase rate for houses and apartments, determined in direct proportion to the inflation rate, was 63.47%. Last month, the increase rate was 64.91%.



According to the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) data, in September, the CPI increased by 2.97% compared to the previous month, 35.86% compared to last December, 49.38% compared to the same month last year, and 63.47% according to 12-month averages.



In terms of main expenditure groups, the only group that decreased compared to the previous month in September was communication, with a decrease of 0.88%. The group with the highest monthly increase in September was education, with an increase of 14.21%.



HOUSING BECAME THE CHAMPION OF PRICE INCREASES



In September, the main group with the least increase compared to the same month last year was transportation, with an increase of 26.6%. In contrast, the main group with the highest increase compared to the same month last year was housing, with an increase of 97.87%. While there was a decrease in the index of 27 out of 143 basic items covered by the index, there was no change in the index of 6 items, and an increase was observed in the index of 110 items. Excluding unprocessed food products, energy, alcoholic beverages, tobacco, and gold, the change in CPI in September was 3.22% compared to the previous month, 36.44% compared to last December, 48.23% compared to the same month last year, and 64.74% according to 12-month averages. Looking at the core consumer price index indicators, the least increase in September was 2.84% in the "CPI excluding unprocessed food, alcoholic beverages, and tobacco products" indicator. The highest annual increase was recorded at 51.67% in the "CPI excluding seasonal products" indicator.
