In the first indictment regarding the accident in Kemerburgaz, Istanbul, where Timur Cihantimur caused the death of Oğuz Murat Aci, a request for up to 10 years in prison was made for 5 suspects, including mother Eylem Tok and father Bülent Cihantimur, for the crimes of "destroying evidence" and "harboring a criminal." Eylem Tok, the mother of Timur Cihantimur, had previously smuggled her son to Egypt and then to the United States.
In the case of Oğuz Murat Aci, who was killed by 17-year-old Timur Cihantimur in Eyüpsultan, the requested sentence for mother Eylem Tok and father Bülent Cihantimur has been determined.
10 YEARS IN PRISON REQUEST
For the 5 suspects, including mother Eylem Tok and father Bülent Cihantimur, who are accused of removing suspect Timur Cihantimur from the scene and tampering with evidence, a prison sentence of up to 10 years is requested for the crimes of "destroying, concealing, or altering evidence" and "aiding a criminal."
WHAT HAPPENED?
In the incident that occurred on March 1, 2023, in Eyüpsultan, one of the 3 ATVs in motion broke down and was pulled to the side of the road.
While the vehicle was being repaired, one of the two vehicles moving in the same direction crashed into the 3 ATVs, resulting in injuries to 5 people, including Oğuz Murat Aci, who lost his life.
After the 17-year-old driver Timur Cihantimur called his mother, Eylem Tok, who came to the scene, she first smuggled her son to Egypt and then to the USA. Cihantimur and Tok, who were detained and arrested in Boston, were extradited to Turkey, where their trial continued.
