Former French Culture Minister Jack Lang was asked to resign from his position as president of the Arab World Institute due to his connections with Jeffrey Epstein. Lang's name appears in the Epstein documents more than 600 times.
French politicians demanded the resignation of former French Minister of Culture Jack Lang from his position as president of the Arab World Institute (IMA) in Paris, mentioned in documents shared with the public regarding billionaire Jeffrey Epstein, who was found dead in prison while being prosecuted for allegedly running a prostitution network targeting underage girls in the U.S.
Politicians from different parties in France called for Lang, who is understood to have met with Epstein previously, to resign from the IMA he leads.
THEY DEMANDED HIS RESIGNATION
Marion Marechal, a French member of the European Parliament (EP), argued on the Sud Radio program that Lang should resign from his position at the IMA considering his connections with Epstein.
Renaud Muselier, President of the Provence-Alpes-Cote d'Azur Region and former IMA President, stated in an interview with Le Parisien that the institute serves France and Arab countries.
Muselier said, "However, at this stage, I believe that Jack Lang's position is extremely harmful to the Institute. Therefore, rather than being forced to resign, I want him to leave voluntarily."
Oliver Faure, Secretary General of the Socialist Party (PS), expressed in a statement to public broadcaster Franceinfo that Lang should consider resigning to protect the IMA he leads.
HIS NAME APPEARS OVER 600 TIMES IN EPSTEIN DOCUMENTS
Former French Minister of Culture Lang's name appears more than 600 times in the documents published as part of the Epstein case.
According to the documents, Lang suggested various cultural trips to Epstein in Paris, while the American billionaire lent his plane to the former French Minister to go to Morocco in April 2017. In another email, Lang is seen asking Epstein questions about children's religious and sexuality education.
A message sent by Epstein in March 2019 to former U.S. President Donald Trump's advisor Steve Bannon also includes a snapshot of Lang taken next to him in front of the Louvre Museum in Paris.
WHAT HAPPENED?
IMA President Lang stated on the French BFMTV channel he appeared on yesterday that he asked Epstein for money for a film his friends would make.
Lang, who said, "The Jeffrey I knew was an attractive, art-loving man," claimed that he cut off all communication with him the moment he learned Epstein had committed a crime.
