The response from the AK Party to the opposition's calls for early elections: If it were today, they would still taste defeat.

24.11.2024 14:31

Responding to the opposition's calls for early elections, AK Party spokesperson Ömer Çelik stated, "If elections were held today, they would taste the same defeat again. However, as we have stated before, there is no question of early elections on Turkey's agenda. In the upcoming period, we will continue to move forward strongly in order to achieve Turkey's goals, in line with the objectives of the century of Turkey set forth by the presidential government system."

AK Party Spokesperson and Deputy Chairman Ömer Çelik stated that the opposition wants early elections, saying, "Of course, if there were elections today, they would taste the same defeat again. But as we have said before, there is no early election on Turkey's agenda."

"THE WORLD HAS ENTERED A VERY TURBULENT PERIOD"

Çelik, in his speech at the Seyhan 8th Ordinary District Congress held at the Adana Archaeology Museum, made important statements regarding the agenda of Turkey and the world. Çelik said, "Yesterday, from England to China, from France to some countries in North Africa, when we read the statements made from top to bottom in just one day, we see that the world has entered a very turbulent period. And we can observe how troubled days have intensified in our close geography in the first news, and sometimes throughout the news bulletins. From the war above us to the genocide in Gaza, all this instability presents numerous risks and uncertainties in our lives, challenging us with new developments brought by artificial intelligence that destroy the social fabric. Therefore, on Teachers' Day, we must once again remember that our greatest duty is to protect future generations, to prepare them correctly both in character and in skills for the risky, difficult, and troubled days ahead," he said.

"THEY CALL HIM A DICTATOR BECAUSE HE DID NOT SURRENDER TO EVIL NETWORKS"

Çelik recalled that some foreign media referred to President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan as a dictator, and continued: "I read some news and comments in certain foreign media that unjustly and immorally call our President a dictator. Why do they call him a dictator? Why do they call our President a dictator? They call him a dictator because he did not surrender to evil networks. They call him a dictator because he did not allow those who want to take over Turkey. They say these words because he resisted those who wanted to bring him to his knees. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan is the love of the nation, he is the man of the nation. We once again promise that we will walk to the end behind the beloved of the nation, Seyhanlı, Adanalı, and from every corner of Turkey."

"IF THERE WERE ELECTIONS TODAY, THEY WOULD TASTE THE SAME DEFEAT AGAIN"

Çelik stated that the opposition talks about early elections when they are cornered, saying, "Of course, if there were elections today, they would taste the same defeat again. But as we have said before, there is no early election on Turkey's agenda. In the upcoming period, we will continue to move forward strongly to achieve the goals set by the Presidential government system for the century of Turkey. The confusion in the opposition, their internal conflicts, and unrest constantly lead them to attack the AK Party whenever the subject arises.

"IT IS NOT POSSIBLE TO SILENCE THE AK PARTY IN ANY WAY"

They are attacking our President. They think they can silence us. The other day, you saw that there was an ugly act in the parliament. They tried to block our Interior Minister as he was entering the commission meeting. But once again, they saw that it is not possible to silence the AK Party in any way, nor is it possible to silence the People's Alliance. My dear friends, our organizations know this very well. Therefore, I would like to express once again that our new district heads should act with this awareness and consciousness. We are not an organization that works only during elections. There is no early election ahead of Turkey. But we are an organization that works as if there is an election every day," he said.
