The Minister of Trade, Ömer Bolat, announced that the restrictions on halted lemon exports have been lifted. Speaking about the decision that put producers in a difficult situation, Bolat stated, "The temporary restriction on lemon exports has been lifted, and in the upcoming period, the price developments in the domestic market will be closely monitored with determination, and inspections will continue."
The Ministry of Trade temporarily halted lemon exports, citing the cold weather and frost disaster that occurred in Adana, Mersin, and Hatay at the end of February. Following the restriction decision, it was brought to attention that producers might face difficulties. In response, the decision was reversed.
"SPECULATIVE ACTIVITIES WILL NOT BE TOLERATED"
In a statement made by Minister Bolat, who met with lemon producers, he said, "In the meeting, we discussed the demands and expectations of our lemon producers and exporters, the steps to be taken to ensure price balance between supply and demand alongside market supply security, and the roadmap for the upcoming period. Additionally, in this meeting, we reached an agreement with valuable participants that speculative activities will not be allowed until the new harvest to ensure that our citizens can access the product at reasonable prices and that price stability will be maintained.

In this context, the temporary restriction on lemon exports has been lifted, and in the upcoming process, price developments in the domestic market will be closely monitored with determination, and inspections will continue. As a government, we will continue to protect and support our farmers, producers, exporters, tradespeople, and consumers."
