Due to the escalating tension, a break was taken in the hearing.
During the second day of the second hearing of the Grand Kartal Hotel fire case, in which 78 people lost their lives and 133 were injured in Bolu, tensions rose.
THEY WALKED TO THE DEFENDANT'S STAND
In the case held at the gymnasium of Bolu Social Sciences High School, 32 defendants, 19 of whom are in custody, along with the plaintiffs and their lawyers, were present. During the witness hearing, the plaintiffs and their relatives walked towards the defendant's stand, shouting, "Filthy murderers, you will not die without experiencing what you have caused." Due to the tension in the courtroom, the court panel adjourned the hearing.
HEARINGS CONTINUE WITH STRICT SECURITY MEASURES
In the session held yesterday, the defendants had presented their defenses for 4 plaintiffs included in the joined indictment. In today's session, the plaintiffs, who were allowed into the courtroom after passing through 3 different checkpoints, along with the relatives of the deceased and lawyers, were subjected to thorough searches by police teams.
WITNESS TESTIMONY DISTURBED THE COURTROOM
Gözde Uludağ, who was heard as a witness in the hearing, stated that she had made a contract with the defendant Ceyda Hacıbekiroğlu as a photographer in 2015, saying, "My contact was Ceyda Hacıbekiroğlu. We did all the processes together. I did not want to remain silent after her words 'I have no authority' and came to give a statement."
After Hacıbekiroğlu's lawyer asked, "How does she know Ceyda's statement?" a dispute arose between the parties. Ceyda Hacıbekiroğlu accepted the witness's claim, stating that she had agreed with Uludağ to take photos of the hotel.
Following the tension, the plaintiffs and their relatives reacted to the defendants again. Subsequently, the hearing was briefly adjourned to try to calm the situation.
