CHP Ordu Deputy Mustafa Adıgüzel reacted by stating that the engineering faculty at Ordu University only exists on paper. Adıgüzel's claim caused a significant stir in the city.

In his evaluations regarding the issue, Adıgüzel stated, "This faculty has no students, no teachers, and no building. But it was published in the Official Gazette with a presidential decree a year and a half ago. In fact, the rector at that time presented this as a great service, claiming it would provide significant contributions to the region."

According to Cumhuriyet; comparing the situation to a Black Sea joke, Adıgüzel said, "A new faculty has been opened at our Ordu University, and we are unaware. Not just me, but nobody knows. The citizens are also unaware. On May 18, 2023, a year and a half ago, it turns out that the Faculty of Engineering, Architecture, and Design was opened as the 14th faculty at Ordu University. Today, if you visit the university's website, you see that there are 13 faculties. The mentioned faculty does not appear there. It seems that there was a decree published on May 18, between the May 14 and May 28 elections. It appears to have been stated as an election promise but was not fulfilled," he said.
