The court sent the video, which includes conversations in Turkish and Kurdish, to the National Criminal Bureau for expert transcription.
CONVERSATIONS CAN BE TRANSLATED INTO TURKISH
In the court's decision document, it was noted: "In the evaluation of the video footage obtained in our court case numbered 2024/396, it was reported that Kurdish was spoken in the video, and due to the very low sound level, it was stated in the meeting with Kurdish experts in Diyarbakır that separate sound equipment was needed to translate it into Turkish, and that it was not possible to translate it into Turkish in its current state due to the low sound level. Following this, discussions were held with the National Criminal Bureau, which is specialized in this field. After it was indicated that the conversations could be translated into Turkish using sound equipment, the video footage was sent to the National Criminal Bureau due to the proximity of the hearing."
FOOTAGE ADDED TO THE CASE FILE
The recorded footage of the meeting held in the garden of uncle Erhan Güran's house in the Tavşantepe neighborhood, attended by some family members, one day before Narin Güran's lifeless body was found on September 8, reached the Diyarbakır Bar Association. The "family members' meeting footage" recorded by security cameras between 19:38-19:41 was submitted to the Diyarbakır 8th Heavy Criminal Court by the Bar Association. The footage watched by the court panel was added to the case file.
The court had previously decided to send the footage containing conversations in Turkish and Kurdish to the Criminal Branch Directorate of the Van Gendarmerie Command for expert transcription.
