Ukrainian Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko announced that Russia launched attacks overnight with 470 drones and ballistic missiles, resulting in the deaths of 20 people and injuries to 66 others.
Ukrainian Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko announced that 20 people lost their lives and 66 were injured in the attack on the city of Ternopil, where Russia targeted various regions of Ukraine with 470 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), 47 ballistic missiles, and 1 cruise missile overnight.
SEVERE DESTRUCTION OCCURRED
Russia launched attacks on various regions of Ukraine overnight using ballistic missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky confirmed on his social media account that 470 UAVs, 47 ballistic missiles, and 1 cruise missile were used in the attacks. Zelensky stated, "Damage assessment work is ongoing in many regions regarding the consequences of the attacks. In the city of Ternopil, 9-story residential buildings were damaged and a fire broke out. Unfortunately, there has been severe destruction, and there may be people trapped under the rubble. All emergency teams are currently on-site and trying to save every life in the area," he said.
ENERGY INFRASTRUCTURE TARGETED
Zelensky also reported that Russia targeted the city of Kharkiv in Ukraine. The Ukrainian leader stated, "In the intense attack that started in the evening, many people, including children, were injured. Energy and transportation facilities, as well as civilian infrastructure, were damaged. Our energy infrastructure in the Ivano-Frankivsk region was also targeted, and 3 children, including 2 minors, were injured. Our critical infrastructure and energy facilities in the Lviv region were also targeted. One person was injured in the Donetsk region. The regions of Kyiv, Mykolaiv, Cherkasy, Chernihiv, and Dnipro were also targeted," he said.
The President of Ukraine called for increased sanctions against Russia and strengthened international support for Ukraine, stating, "Every attack is proof that the pressures on Russia are still insufficient. More effective sanctions and support for Ukraine can change this. Our top priority is air defense missiles, additional systems, and expanded capacities for our Air Force and UAV production. Russia must be held accountable for its actions, and we need to focus on everything that strengthens us, allowing us to hit Russian missiles, neutralize Russian UAVs, and stop the attacks," he said.
20 PEOPLE DIED IN TERNOPIL
Ukrainian Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko reported that 10 people lost their lives and 37 people, including 12 children, were injured in the attack in Ternopil.
66 PEOPLE INJURED IN KHARKIV
Kharkiv Regional Governor Oleh Syniehubov announced that 46 people were injured in the attack on Kharkiv, and 16 buildings and 31 vehicles were damaged. Syniehubov stated that a KAB-type guided bomb and 51 UAVs, including 24 Shahed-type, were used in the attack on the city.
AIRSPACE VIOLATED
Meanwhile, it was stated in a statement that one UAV violated Romanian airspace during Russia's attack on Ukraine. The Romanian Ministry of Defense reported that the radar signal of the UAV was detected within 8 kilometers of the national airspace in the Tulca region of Romania, and that two Eurofighter-type fighter jets, followed by two F-16-type fighter jets, took off as part of Germany's airspace security mission in Romania.
In a statement from the Polish army, it was noted that due to the attack on Ukraine, an early warning system aircraft and fighter jets took off in pairs, and that air defense systems and long-range reconnaissance systems were raised to the highest state of readiness. The statement emphasized that the actions aimed to ensure the security of the airspace, especially over border regions, were of a preventive nature.
