The statements of those who ambushed Serhat Akın and shot him in the foot have emerged.

Former national football player and sports commentator Serhat Akın was recently attacked in a shooting incident after leaving a program he attended. The statements of the 5 individuals who were arrested and sent to prison in the incident, where Akın was shot in the legs, have emerged.

"H. Ş. THREATENED ME AND MY FAMILY"

According to a report by Habertürk; O. D., who used the weapon in the attack, stated in his testimony, "The person who wanted me to shoot Serhat Akın is a person named H. Ş. I don't know what kind of conflict they have between them. However, I have no conflict with Serhat Akın, nor did I even know him. I have no personal gain from this job. I got involved in this because H. Ş. threatened me and my family. I learned about the money later. O. M. told me he would go outside and then went out. I don't know how much money he received from whom, but I am sure he got money. H. Ş. sent money to me and O. M. as pocket money. I received 150,000 TL from Osman," he said.

"THEY GAVE US A GUN AND A MOTORCYCLE"

The shooter O. D. continued, saying, "We went to a location to obtain the motorcycle together with O. M.";

"There, unknown individuals gave us both the motorcycle and the gun. They gave us one gun. We had also taken one of the helmets from them. I borrowed one from my cousin, saying that we would be riding a motorcycle in Kadıköy and needed a helmet for that. M. definitely had no knowledge of this incident. We went for a reconnaissance together with O. M. There was no one else.

"YOU DON'T REALIZE THE SERIOUSNESS OF THE SITUATION"

On the day of the incident, O. M. and I went to the scene on a motorcycle; O. M. was driving, and we waited for a while for Serhat Akın to come out. In fact, we told Hasan that we wanted to leave because we were bored and that we would not do this job. However, he threatened us, saying that we did not realize the seriousness of the situation."

"I DID NOT FIRE TO KILL"

After a while, when Serhat Akın came out, I fired 2-3 shots aiming at his legs to injure him. My intention was definitely not to kill. Afterwards, I called Eyüp, who was working as an illegal taxi driver. I was planning to go to Şile with E. Ü, but I sent E. Ü back because I changed the plan later. E. Ü had no knowledge of this incident at all. I handed over the helmet I received from M. to him. The incident occurred this way; I have nothing else to say. I do not know who the person bringing the money was; we carried out the incident together with O. M., the others are innocent."

"THEY HANDED US THE MOTORCYCLE, WE STARTED IT WITH A CABLE"

O. M., who was riding the motorcycle in the incident, stated, "I had no idea that O. D. was going to ambush Serhat Akın and shoot him. On the day of the incident, he called me, and we met, then went together to pick up the motorcycle in Pendik Çınardere. They gave us a motorcycle and one helmet; I did not see them give a gun. The motorcycle had no license plate and no key; we started it with a cable. After that, while I was riding the motorcycle, we went to Kartal with O. D. O. D. spotted another motorcycle and stole its license plate to put on the motorcycle we were riding. The other helmet was taken by O. D. from M., who is his cousin. Then we arrived at the location where O. D. was supposed to go in Beykoz and started waiting. We did not know why we were waiting; I know H. Ş., but I have no connection with him, nor did I receive any threats from him. During the time I was with O. D., I did not witness him receiving any threats from H. Ş. I know there was a money issue between the person O. D. was talking to on the phone, but I do not know exactly what they were discussing. After a while, when the person in the Ford vehicle there informed O. D. that the complainant had come out, O. D. took his gun and went towards the complainant, firing 3 shots; I do not know exactly where he aimed. Then we went back to the place where we got the motorcycle with O. D. and returned it. Afterwards, I. T. picked us up from Pendik and took us to Tuzla Aydınlı, where we all drank alcohol together. Ozan asked me to take money from a person who would bring it and give it to him. I took the money in a bag from an unknown person in a white SUV, but I did not count it. Later, I received a commission of 100,000 TL from this money. O. D. gave me this money. He took the rest. I had absolutely no knowledge that O. D. would be involved in such an incident; I swear to you, I have no connection to this incident," he stated.

"O. M. WENT AND CAME BACK WITH 250,000 TL"

I. T. stated, "I have no connection to these incidents at all. On the day of the incident, around 01:00 at night, O. D. called me and asked me to pick him up from where he was with O. M. I told him it was the taxi driver change time and picked up the other driver, then we went to a place on Tuzla beach. There, O. D., O. M., and I drank alcohol together. They did not have any suspicious behavior. However, I had seen their helmets; I saw the gun on the table while we were drinking at night. Around 13:00 in the afternoon, Osman went outside for a while, and when he came back, he had 250,000 TL with him; in fact, I counted the money. I do not know whether O. D. or O. M. arranged this money. When I asked where the money came from, O. D. jokingly said, 'We shot a guy, that's his money,'" he stated.

"A BEARDED MAN IN HIS 30s-40s HANDED ME THE MONEY"

The person who handed the money to the suspects, Y. G., stated the following in his testimony;

"I have known H. Ş., nicknamed Cüdi Şahin, since 2016. The day after the incident, Hasan called me via video and said, 'I can only trust you, there is a money issue, go to the location I will describe and collect the money.' Since he asked me nicely, I didn't refuse him. He directed me to a place in Hadımköy. There, a bearded man in his 30s-40s got out of a white vehicle with money in his hand. At that moment, I was still on a video call with H. Ş. After I video-called H. Ş. with the other person, the man handed me the money. Then I went back to the place Hasan described and handed both the dollars and the Turkish lira in the bag to a person I didn't know. In return for this action, I received 5000 TL from Hasan and 1200 TL for gas expenses. In total, I received 6200 TL. However, I had no idea why I was giving this money or for what reason. I had absolutely no knowledge that the complainant Serhat Akın had been shot."

"I AM A PIRATE TAXI DRIVER, THEY CALLED ME AND I CAME"

The taxi driver E. Ü., who is alleged to have acted as a lookout during the incident, stated in his testimony, "I have been a pirate taxi driver for many years. I absolutely do not accept the allegation that I was conducting reconnaissance. I do not know any of the other suspects. A person called me from the phone I was using and said he wanted a taxi, so I told him to call the station. After I learned that he was nearby, I went to the location he sent. I picked up a person named O. D., whose name I later learned because of this incident, and took him to the place he described in Kavacık. I received 1000 TL for the taxi fare from him and waited at the location he described for a while. Since I received the payment in cash, I waited for him for about 1.5-2 hours. After a while, when he didn't answer my calls, I realized he wasn't coming. After that, I did not have any face-to-face contact with him. I absolutely did not provide any masks or weapons; I am being falsely accused, and I have no connection with these individuals," he said.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Serhat Akın, a former striker for the national team and Fenerbahçe, and a football commentator, was shot in a gun attack in Beykoz after a sports program broadcast on a social media platform on September 26 at around 23:30. Serhat Akın was hit by 3 bullets, 2 in his left leg and 1 in his right leg. After the attack, Akın was hospitalized for treatment. Of the 6 suspects detained in connection with the attack, 5 were arrested and sent to prison. It was learned that those arrested in the investigation included O. D. (19), who had a criminal record for carrying out the attack and stealing the motorcycle's license plate, O. M. (23), who was riding the motorcycle, İ. T. (23), E. Ü. (26), and M. A. (23), who acted together with the suspects.
